WLR Automotive Group Named Beacon Sponsor of Frederick’s First-Ever Canstruction Event!

Frederick, MD – June 1, 2026 – WLR Automotive Group is proud to serve as a Beacon Sponsor of Frederick’s first-ever Canstruction event, an innovative community initiative benefiting the Frederick Rescue Mission. Click on the image above to learn more about the event!
As one of the first organizations to commit support, WLR Automotive Group is helping bring this internationally recognized hunger-relief fundraiser to Frederick, reinforcing the company’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the community and supporting neighbors in need.
Canstruction is an international nonprofit initiative in which teams design and build large-scale structures entirely out of unopened cans of food. These creative displays are constructed, judged, and showcased to the public before being dismantled, with all food donated directly to the Frederick Rescue Mission to support its outreach and feeding programs.
In addition to serving as a Beacon Sponsor, WLR Automotive Group will participate in the competition with its own themed Canstruction build, “The Batwash,” a creative play on the company’s Auto Spa tunnel and the iconic Batman character. The build reflects WLR Automotive Group’s value of Collective Creativity while supporting a meaningful community cause.
The event will take place at Warehouse Cinemas, where teams will construct and display their canned food creations. The builds will remain on display from June 19 through July 5, providing the public an opportunity to experience the structures and support hunger-relief efforts in the community. Canstruction officially kicks off with a Ribbon Cutting on Thursday, June 18 at 12:00 p.m., followed by an Awards Reception from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Proceeds from the event, along with all collected canned goods, will directly benefit the Frederick Rescue Mission.
