Meet Our Team At The Corporate Office!

In 1987, Randall along with Steven Ranney founded the company as a single Lube Center.  Prior to founding the company, Randall started up and ran several small businesses including a Tire Shop and a Health Club. Randall bought out Steven Ranney’s portion of the business in 2012 to become the sole owner.

Today, Randall oversees all aspects of WLR Automotive Group and is actively involved in the daily operations as well as the future growth of the company.  Randall works directly with the Leadership Team and Department Heads to make sure that the vision and goals of WLR Automotive Group are aligned and that our customers are being delivered the best experience possible.

In addition to the automotive group of businesses, WLR Automotive Group is also involved in real estate rentals and development.  As the President and CEO, Randall will make certain that WLR Automotive Group plays an active role in participating and giving back to the communities where we have locations.

John represents a perfect example of what it means to grow with a company. In 1994, John started with WLR as an Automotive Technician through the Governor Thomas Johnson High School’s work-study program. In 2000, John was promoted to Managing Partner, overseeing the operations of The Lube Centers in his region.

In January 2020, John was promoted to Vice President of Operations. John is responsible for the operations of all The Lube Centers, The Auto Repairs, The Auto Spas, and The Auto Spa Expresses. He works closely with the Regional Managing Partners to provide support and guidance in the organization. In addition, John partners with Corporate Department Heads and Executives focusing on development and growth of our company, while delivering solutions for our locations. John’s vision for WLR’s growth, combined with decades of experience, ensures that our locations are operating at a professional level to provide top notch customer service. John is also a member of the company’s Leadership Team.

In April of 2012, Chad was approached by WLR with the opportunity of starting and operating WLR Investment Group. Chad joined WLR Automotive Group in May of 2012 as the Real Estate Development Manager of the company’s real estate development division, WLR Investment Group, Inc. In January 2013, Chad took over the Facilities Department and helped to reorganize the department. Chad would later return to WLR Investment Group and serve as the Real Estate Development & Acquisitions Manager.

In July of 2018, Chad was promoted to Acquisitions & Development Director for WLR Automotive Group and a member of the company’s Leadership Team. Chad oversees all acquisitions, new construction and major renovations of the company’s operating locations and real estate investments.

An important role of Chad’s position is to work closely with the President & CEO and CFO to seek opportunities for future investments and company growth.

Sara Cooke’s journey at WLR began in 2007 when she joined the Germantown Lube Center as a cashier. In 2009, Sara transitioned to Corporate, exploring various departments and roles, from Administrative to Finance to IT to Business Systems Director.

In 2012, Sara transferred to Mighty shortly after its opening, initially serving as an Office Administrator before taking on the role of Operations Director. Her commitment and contributions were recognized when she joined Mighty’s IT Committee in 2018 and subsequently won the Operational Excellence Award in 2019.

In late 2022, Sara officially began overseeing and running Mighty Auto Parts, showcasing her leadership and strategic insight. Her hard work and dedication were acknowledged when she was promoted to Managing Partner in January 2024, a testament to her exceptional performance and value to the organization.

Outside of work, Sara finds joy in watching her son play lacrosse, football, and basketball for his high school and club teams.

Laura DeGennaro, Chief Human Resources Officer, joined the company in 2013. She started her WLR career as a Human Resources Coordinator supporting onboarding and recruitment. In 2015, Laura was promoted to a Human Resources Business Partner, where she provided direct operational and human resources support to our store locations. In addition to the Human Resources Business Partner role, Laura also successfully handled the benefits administration for the company. In March 2018, Laura was promoted to Human Resources Manager.

In January 2020, Laura was promoted to Human Resources Director and a member of the company’s Leadership Team. She works closely with the President & CEO providing leadership, consultation, and strategic direction regarding the company’s Human Resources Management and Office Management functions. Laura worked at a law firm prior to WLR Automotive Group. Her previous experience there has allowed her to develop strong compliance and procedure processes for the Human Resources Department. Along with her valuable experience, Laura holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Shepherd University in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources.

Since 1998, Pamela has held the position of Assistant to the President & CEO at WLR Automotive Group. While working closely with the President & CEO, she also has the responsibility for multiple internal operations processes. In addition, Pamela serves as a member of the company’s Leadership Team. Prior to joining WLR Automotive Group, Pamela worked for a law firm based in Rockville, Maryland.

Notable is her 20 plus years of experience as an Executive Assistant. Because of Pamela’s experience, she has been an asset providing organizational and project orientated skills to our company.

Sandy has been with the company since the beginning. He had previously met the President & CEO, Randy Simpson in 1980 when Sandy was in grade school. When Sandy was in the 8th grade, he worked with Randy for the first time. Sandy left the area and returned when Randy invited him to join his new company.

Since starting with the company in 1987, Sandy has worked wherever the company has needed him. He started as an Assistant Manager at the first Lube Center.   Sandy has managed the Fredericktowne Auto Repair and the Columbia Lube Center. In 2005, the President & CEO invited Sandy to become a Managing Partner. From 2008 to 2011, Sandy managed the three Montgomery County Lube Centers.

In 2011, Sandy started our Mighty Auto Parts franchise, Mighty Auto Parts of Maryland. In this role, Sandy manages a team that includes sales and delivery of Mighty Auto Parts. Additionally, Sandy’s team provides full service including training to businesses wishing to use Mighty Auto Parts and inventory management basis.

Jacquie has been with the WLR Automotive Group since August 2011. Jacquie graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with Bachelor degrees in both Business and Political Science. In addition, she is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Jacquie’s work experience has included positions in both the for-profit and nonprofit arenas.

As the Chief Financial Officer, she participates on the company’s Leadership Team.   In her role, Jacquie is responsible for oversight of the company’s financial operations including payroll. An important function of Jacquie’s position is to work closely with the President & CEO to use financial data to seek opportunities for future investment and company growth.

Megan joined WLR as a Regional Manager in February 2022. She brings years of leadership experience to the company to achieve continued growth and success within The Auto Spa Expresses. Her excitement to coach and motivate employees and provide the highest level of customer service is what makes her the best fit for this role! Her goal as Regional Manager is to elevate the customer’s experience, empower and build confidence in the employees, and promote a positive, healthy, and vibrant atmosphere.

Simon joined WLR in early 2012 as a Systems Administrator, overseeing the health of the company’s information technology infrastructure. Since joining the company, he has strived to further solidify and grow IT for every aspect of the company. After receiving a promotion to IT Manager in July 2014, Simon assumed the responsibility of the IT Department. As IT Manager, Simon helps manage technology and operational changes across the company.

Brice began his employment with WLR Automotive Group, in June 2010 as a Courier.  Over the last several years his role has moved into that of our Audio-Visual Specialist and currently as Department Head for our Audio-Visual Department.

Brice is a self-motivated professional individual with exceptional knowledge of the latest audio and visual components and equipment needed for creating professional and stunning presentations. Brice’s work can be found throughout our company’s website, social media accounts and employee newsletters. He has a keen “eye” for capturing important moments and enjoys putting his passion and creativity into each project.

Joshua joined the Company in November 2022 as the Customer Relations Manager. He is currently Attending Community College of Baltimore County, pursuing his Degree in Business. Additionally, he has over 15 years of Customer Service and Operations Management experience.

In his role as Customer Relations Manager, Joshua looks to improve his skills and knowledge to gain the trust of our customers.

Lauren joined WLR in 2019 as a Digital Marketing Specialist and was promoted to Marketing Manager in 2024. With over 13 years of marketing experience and a degree from UMUC, she oversees the marketing efforts for The Lube Center, Auto Spa, Auto Spa Express, and Auto Repair.

Lauren has a deep passion for marketing, particularly in the digital space, and stays ahead of industry trends to drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and business growth.

Jennifer joined WLR Automotive Group in October 2019 and currently serves as the Community Engagement Manager. With a degree in Commercial Design from the College of Art Advertising of Cincinnati and over 18 years of experience in marketing and events, Jennifer is highly skilled in event planning, community outreach, and relationship building. In her current role, she oversees all events and outreach initiatives, ensuring WLR Automotive Group’s active involvement in the community. Her capability in organizing impactful events and fostering partnerships helps strengthen the company’s community presence and help further its mission of giving back.

In 2005, while still attending High School, James started his journey with WLR as a part-time courtesy technician at The Lube Center. Throughout the years, James diligently dedicated himself to his work, gradually rising from Supervisor to Assistant manager and then running his own shop as a Location Manager.

In 2023, he reached a pinnacle in his career by assuming the role of District Manager of The Lube Centers. In this capacity, James oversees multiple locations, leveraging their extensive experience and leadership skills to drive growth and uphold the company’s standards of excellence.

James’  journey with WLR is a testament to their resilience and commitment to personal and professional growth. As District Manager, he remains poised to lead by example and inspire others to achieve greatness within the organization.

In 2011, Michael began his career with WLR as a Location Manager at the Route 40  Lube Center in Frederick, MD. With his limited business and industry knowledge, he worked tirelessly to establish himself as a dedicated and driven addition to the many talented Lube Center managers. In 2013, Michael was awarded “TLC Manager of the Year”  for his outstanding performance and dedication to WLR.

In 2023, he joined the corporate office as a District Manager of Region 1A Lube Centers. “My goal is to support the locations I am responsible for through exceptional training and communication. It is truly an honor to be among the best in the industry!” Michael said.

In his spare time, Michael loves moments with his incredible wife and 5 remarkable children. His family believes in sustainable practices through farming, tending to their land, and serving the community by volunteering at local non-profit farming programs and attending weekly farmers markets.

Megan Monroe joined WLR in August of 2021 as an Assistant Manager at the Full-Service Auto Spa in Hagerstown. Her dedication and leadership quickly led to a promotion to Location Manager, where she played a key role in operational success. Megan took on a new challenge by switching to our Express car washes and opening her first location, Hagerstown Auto Spa Express. Shortly thereafter, she was promoted to District Manager, overseeing multiple Express locations.

In her district leadership role, Megan initially focused on the Auto Spa Express division, assisting in successfully launching new locations and managing current locations. She then transitioned back to the full-service side, continuing to drive operational excellence and team development. Megan attended the University of Phoenix studying Business Management and brings a strong background in leadership, strategic growth, and customer service. She remains committed to enhancing the Auto Spa experience and supporting the success of her teams.

Scott is a lifelong resident of Frederick County. He joined the WLR team in March 2019. Scott has been in the automotive industry since 1994. He graduated with a Master Technical status through General Motors and he obtained and still holds a Master ASE Automotive Technician certification. Scott utilizes his excellent communication and technical skills on a daily basis here within WLR as his position is to manage and maintain mechanical, electrical, and general maintenance at all of our locations. Scott says “I am applying everything that I have learned throughout the years to accomplish the tasks that are presented to me daily here at WLR, and I LOVE IT!!!”.

Scott is a proud parent of 2 children and in his free time, he enjoys fishing for catfish and musky. Family is important to Scott, he loves to spoil his two nephews and soon to be grandchild!

Kim joined WLR Automotive Group in February 2010. Kim has brought to the company her administrative, customer service and management experience.   Kim’s previous roles included Administrative Assistant and Employment Coordinator.

Today, Kim serves as the Property Manager for the company.  When Kim started as Property Manager, she was the sole employee responsible for 80 residential rental properties.  Kim has grown her division into nearly 200 residential and commercial units throughout Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Additionally, Kim’s team has grown into a team that includes office and maintenance staff.
