WLR Automotive Group Kicks Off 12th Annual “Feeding Families” Initiative to Support Neighbors in Need This Thanksgiving
Frederick, MD – WLR Automotive Group has officially kicked off its 12th annual Feeding Families initiative, a cherished company tradition dedicated to ensuring that local families in need can enjoy a full and memorable Thanksgiving meal.
What began over a decade ago as a small gesture to support just 20 families has grown into a large-scale community effort, providing complete Thanksgiving dinners for 100 families each year across the region.
The Feeding Families Story
Feeding Families was created from WLR’s long-standing commitment to giving back to the communities it serves. Each year, WLR employees, customers, and community partners come together to collect non-perishable food items and assemble Thanksgiving baskets filled with everything needed for a festive holiday meal.
“Thanksgiving is a time for gratitude and togetherness,” said Jen Nugent, Community Engagement Manager for WLR Automotive Group. “We started Feeding Families because we wanted to help our neighbors enjoy that same sense of warmth and comfort, even if they were facing difficult times. What began as helping a few families has grown into a powerful tradition that continues to unite our teams and our community.”
A Message from WLR’s Leadership
“As our company continues to grow, we recognize that our success is made possible by our customers and the incredible communities we serve,” said Randall S. Simpson, President & CEO of WLR Automotive Group. “We feel truly blessed for that growth and support, and in turn, it’s important that we give back to our neighbors. Feeding Families is one meaningful way we can share those blessings—ensuring that more families experience the comfort, dignity, and joy of a Thanksgiving meal together.”
What Each Family Receives
Every Feeding Families basket includes:
- Non-perishable items for a complete Thanksgiving dinner
- Festive plates, napkins, and cutlery
- A $25 gift card to purchase a turkey or additional groceries
Each basket feeds up to eight people, giving families the opportunity to gather, share a meal, and celebrate together.
How the Community Can Help
WLR Automotive Group is now collecting non-perishable donations through November 16, 2025, at all of its locations, including The Lube Centers, The Auto Spas, The Auto Spa Express, The Auto Repairs, and its Corporate Office.
Suggested Donation Items Include:
Canned vegetables, boxed stuffing, instant potatoes, gravy, canned yams, pie filling, marshmallows, and disposable roasting pans or tableware.
Community donations are essential to help WLR meet its goal of feeding 100 families again this year.
